Skate to Warm Ukraine Fundraiser Supports Aid Efforts in Kyiv

Skate to Warm Ukraine Fundraiser

On a winter afternoon, the Washington Ukrainian Humanitarian Center hosted Skate to Warm Ukraine, a fundraising event held on a frozen pond near St. Andrew's Church. The gathering combined outdoor skating with a humanitarian purpose, raising funds for Points of Resilience in Kyiv. All proceeds will support hot meals and blankets for civilians affected by power outages following Russia's destruction of energy infrastructure in Kyiv's Troieshchyna neighborhood.

The event also drew international attention. Journalists from Latvia and Estonia filmed a television segment at the site, highlighting the continued international interest in community-led support for Ukraine.
